Discoveryopt premium 7075AL high riflescope mount for 30mm tube on 20mm picatinny rail.
The rig is made of 7075 aerospace aluminum alloy, which has a much higher tensile strength and is harder than the more common 6061 alloy. Thanks to this, the rig is extremely durable, maintains its accuracy even on weapons with the highest recoil and does not deform.
The mount’s tube center height is 1.45″ (approx. 36.84 mm), so a riflescope with an outer objective diameter of up to ~72 mm can be securely attached.
It is not the front lens size that is 72mm, but the total outer diameter of the front lens including the tube and lens cap.
Note: the maximum outer objective diameter of ~72 mm is valid for horizontal mounting. If the riflescope is mounted on a pre-tilted or tiltable (e.g. 20 MOA) rail, the front lens may be closer to the barrel, so the maximum objective diameter that can be mounted is smaller, so that the barrel and riflescope (front lens) do not touch.

DiscoveryOpt Picatinny 7075AL scope mount family
The precision machining and markings of the Discovery 7075 aluminum scope ring pair are clearly visible in the image. The metallic, polished inner surface of the rings stands out, achieved through fine pre-grinding (no anodized layer is present on the inner surface, ensuring maximum grip on the scope tube). The white markings on the sides indicate the recommended screw tightening sequence and torque values – for example, 30 in/lbs for the rail mounting screws – which greatly simplifies proper professional installation.
Premium material quality and design
The DiscoveryOpt 7075AL mount is made from 7075-T6 aerospace-grade aluminum, a material renowned for its exceptional strength and durability. This alloy offers higher tensile strength, shear strength, and hardness compared to the commonly used 6061 aluminum found in many competing products (e.g., several Vector Optics rings). The rings feature an extra-tough Type III hard-anodized coating, creating an oxide layer approximately 40 µm thick—roughly double that of standard anodizing—making them highly resistant to scratches, impacts, and corrosion under any weather or field conditions.
Precision CNC machining and grinding ensure minimal circular and coaxial deviation, guaranteeing perfect alignment of both rings—an essential factor for maintaining long-range accuracy. An index pin in the upper ring half assists with automatic centering between the upper and lower halves, preventing torsional stress on the scope tube during screw tightening and ensuring an exact fit every time.
Additionally, the mount is equipped with integrated recoil lugs that lock securely into the Picatinny rail, preventing any movement even under heavy recoil. The “skeletonized” design incorporates weight-reducing cutouts, meaning that despite the robust material, the rings remain lightweight—delivering an optimal balance between strength and reduced mass.
Main features and dimensions
- Available in multiple sizes: The Discovery 7075 mount family offers rings for 25.4 mm (1"), 30 mm, 34 mm and 35 mm tube diameter riflescopes. There are low, medium and high profile versions (height of the ring center above the rail ~0.97″ / 1.26″ / 1.45″). This way, everyone can find the version that best suits their weapon and optics. (Note: the rings are only compatible with Picatinny rails, they cannot be mounted on Weaver rails due to the wider pins.)
- Designed for large calibers: The combination of 7075-T6 aluminum and steel fasteners, as well as anti-recoil pins, make this mount suitable for high-kicking weapons. According to user reports and tests, even on rifles with calibers of .300 Win Mag or .338 Lapua Magnum, the scope does not move, the mount remains stable after hundreds of shots. The screws hold securely (Torx-head mounting screws, recommended torque: 20 inch-pounds for the rings, 30 inch-pounds for the base bracket), so the zero point of the riflescope remains, there is no slippage even with strong recoil.
- Easy installation and accessories: The manufacturer has laser engraved the tightening torque values and the order of the screws on the side of the rings, which helps in uniform tightening. The package also includes all the necessary Allen keys and spare screws, in a tidy plastic box, which also makes it easier to store later. The fitting precision is so good that most users did not find any additional grinding/lapping necessary during installation.
Recommended use and comparison
The Discovery 7075 aluminum mount is an ideal choice for precision shooters and hunters who require reliable and accurate scope mounting. It is especially recommended for larger caliber rifles (e.g. .308, .300 Win Mag, .338 LM), as its massive construction can withstand even the highest recoil from shot to shot. Its stability and accuracy are outstanding for long-range target shooting - it will not move or change the point of impact during series of shots. It also stands up to hunting: its weather-resistant coating withstands the rigors of the field, and its light weight does not significantly weigh down the weapon, so the rings do not represent an additional burden when hiking or during longer stalking.
In terms of quality, this rig can be easily compared to premium rings from well-known Western manufacturers, such as Vortex Precision Matched Rings, which are also made of 7075-T6 aluminum and can withstand larger calibers. The difference is that while premium products from Vortex and similar brands represent a very high price category, Discoveryopt 7075AL rings offer a similar level of precision and reliability at a much more favorable price. At the same time, compared to entry-level, cheaper rings (which are mostly made of only 6061 aluminum), Discovery represents a higher quality category, with a longer lifespan and better resistance. It is therefore outstanding in terms of price-performance ratio: according to customer reports, it is “as good as the products of the big brands, but for a fraction of their price”.
Customer experiences
International feedback on this mount has been extremely positive. Several customers have highlighted the impeccable quality of the workmanship and the premium nature of the materials – the matte black anodized surface is even and durable, the screws and threads are precise. They particularly praised the useful inscriptions on the rings (torque and size markings), which make installation and later identification easier. Many were surprised by how high the product represents at such a price: some admitted that they had not experienced any disadvantages when replacing their rings of a more expensive brand, and even questioned why they had previously paid more for other manufacturers. The concentricity and fit of the rings are excellent, and in most cases no subsequent correction was required when re-shooting the telescope. The packaging and accessories are also praised: the rings arrive in a practical plastic box, with Allen keys and spare screws. There were only minor negatives: some noted that there is no rubber coating or insert inside the ring (metal contacts metal, so it is worth installing it carefully so as not to scratch the riflescope), and you need to pay attention to choosing the right height - the Low version, for example, may be too low for riflescopes with larger objective lenses, in which case the Medium or High profile is a better choice. Overall, the DiscoveryOpt 7075AL Picatinny mount is a professionally precise, reliable product that users confidently recommend to anyone looking for a stable and durable riflescope mount.

Dear customer.
The treatment of preferential prices has changed slightly since the introduction of the Price Regulation. The amount of the discount must be compared to the lowest price of the last 30 days and displayed as a percentage.
Unfortunately, the constantly changing EURO and USD exchange rates have made this a bit difficult. For goods purchased from abroad, the current HUF price is linked to the current exchange rate. Thus, in the case of a low exchange rate within 30 days, the normal price at that moment may be lower than the discounted price if the exchange rate is high at that moment.
Therefore, any discounted price shown next to the price will always be the discounted price next to the current exchange rate, but may vary significantly in percentage terms from the best price of the last 30 days. Unfortunately it can be even higher and in this case we cannot indicate that the current price is discounted. Even if the discount compared to the current normal price would be significant.
The promotion is valid for the number of items in stock indicated next to the product, with no time limit.
